The Rules

This is our diet plan, composed from internet research and Ross's thoughts on a healthy diet.  We all have different food weaknesses, but with the support from each other, we are going to do this!  Since we need to have meals planned for six days of the week, we have decided to take turns.  We each take two days and cook a meal for the three of us.  These are the rules we are following as we choose and prepare our meals:

Rule #1- Avoid "white" carbohydrates

  • NO bread
  • NO rice
  • NO cereal
  • NO potatoes
  • NO pasta
  • NO breaded fried food

Rule #2- Eat meals consisting of these components:

  • PROTEINS:     
    • Egg whites with one whole egg for flavor
    • Chicken breast or thigh
    • Tilapia, salmon, etc.
    • Pork
  • LEGUMES:
    • Lentils
    • Black beans
    • Pinto beans
  • VEGETABLES:
    • Spinach
    • Asparagus
    • Peas
    • Mixed vegetables
    • Sweet potatoes
  • FRUIT! 
*Breakfast and dinner should be no more than twelve hours apart. 

Rule #3- Don't drink calories

  • Drink massive quantities of water and things like unsweetened iced tea, tea, diet sodas, and coffee (without white cream).
  • Do NOT drink milk, normal soft drinks, fruit juice, or massive quantities of alcohol.
*We would like to make a note that we are all supplementing our diet with a multivitamin of our choice.  

Rule #4- Take one day off per week

     Eat whatever you want to and don't work out one day a week.  Eat ice cream, go to a restaurant and eat so much that you won't want to look at sugar or grease the rest of the week.

     And remember: we are in this together.  Losing weight is a choice and we need to believe in each other and ourselves!
